Description

This is a walkthru on coloring Reiichi (Tea Prince - Nanpei Yamada). It's actually a failure, but I feel like sharing anyway.

This is the lineart: [link]
I'd like to color it with Photoshop. If anyone wanna help: [link]

thank you so much for sharing this ♥ you did a wonderful job, and it's only with experimenting that we learn =) so don't think of it as a failure (even though it's not!) try and see it as another step forward =)

i don't know if it helps though, but i always find it better when i have a piece that i really don't like how it turned out, to put it away for the night and go back to it the next day. Thats the only way i end up finishing most of my pieces, i get too frustrated sometimes with how it feels like i 'bodged it up' xD some reason things seem better when you've had space from it and then build on it a little if you feel it needs it.
(all else fails and then i abuse white gel pen and glitter xD arg.. bad habit)

Also if you can though one day, if you do bump into cheap watercolour paper (though i guess you have to be careful with the kinds you get..) it's really worth experimenting on and seeing if you like it or not =) would gladly post some to you if you ever wished and felt okay with that, would be ATC sized though - 2.5'' x 3.5'' (i cut up a large pad so i could make atc cards ^^ eek..) I had a lot of mess ups using normal copy paper - water seems to dry way to quickly and it's too difficult for me, and very low quality watercolour paper likes to disintergrate worse than copy paper :s but if you manage to get any thats about 300gsm it's a lot of fun, and blending is that much easier =) ahh sorry for the ramble, just it made a lot of difference to me ^^; (i'm currently learning to watercolour too)
